In the golden autumn of September, the fragrance of osmanthus is refreshing. With limitless expectations for the future, the new students of the Class of 2025 gather from all directions, bringing new vigor and vitality to the college.
In order to promote communication between home and school and assist freshmen in smoothly integrating into college life, the meeting for the 2025 freshmen and their parents themed Setting Sails for a Bright Future Together was successfully held on the afternoon of September 7th at the Qiu Zhen Lecture Hall in the Second Teaching Building of the Changping Campus. The meeting saw participation from the associate deans of the School of Chemical Engineering, School of Materials Science, School of Chemistry, and School of Life Sciences, as well as leaders from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and all freshmen and their parents. The meeting was hosted by Hou Hong, the Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office and the Vice Dean of Hongde College.
At the beginning of the event, the promotional video of Hongde Academy vividly showcased the academy's educational philosophy, environment, facilities, and the demeanor of its students, allowing new students and parents to closely perceive and understand Hongde. Vice President Hou Hong introduced the attending leaders and teachers one by one, and her warm and clear introductions bridged the distance between everyone and officially kicked off the entire event.
The dean of Hongde College, Jiang Guangfeng, delivered a systematic explanation to new students and their parents on the theme of College Construction and Talent Development, outlining the development history and educational characteristics of the college. Starting from the origins of the college system, he detailed the construction path of Hongde College, providing an in-depth interpretation of the dual college cooperative education mechanism, highlighting distinctive models such as the mentorship system and personalized training. He also showcased the convenient services of the one-stop student community and the strong family culture atmosphere. Dean Jiang particularly emphasized that the college implements dynamic management, encouraging new students to cherish their time and to be self-disciplined, while also hoping that parents strengthen their communication with students, working together with the school for mutual growth.
Counselor Cui Yiwen from the Class of 2025 then took the stage to share her personal introduction and class planning. With a firm yet warm speech, she promised to fully support the newcomers in adapting to university life and help them grow into independent and healthy outstanding talents. This demonstrated the professionalism and warmth of the counselor team at Hongde College, and also laid a solid foundation of trust for the collaboration between home and school in nurturing students.
During the professional introduction session, the four colleges' deputy deans of teaching/professional leaders provided detailed interpretations regarding the talent cultivation goals of the programs, faculty strengths, research platforms, and employment prospects.
Deputy Director Feng Jianghong of the International Exchange and Cooperation Officegave a systematic introduction to the school's international exchange and cooperation projects, covering joint training, overseas study, short-term visiting programs, international organizations, and providing clear guidance for students aspiring to broaden their international outlook.
At the end of the meeting, all the teachers and students took the first 'Hongde Family Photo' together, capturing this significant moment.
